چکیده

Micro-polluted water, which is widespread in rural areas, poses a serious health risk. To address this issue, we propose three-dimensional biofilm electrode reactor with triple-layer particle electrodes (TL-BERs) for the decentralized and small-scale treatment of micro-polluted water. The first second layers electrode, granular activated carbon (GAC) biological ceramsite (BC), respectively, are responsible electric field oxidation microbial degradation, while third, quartz sand (QS), further improving turbidity pollutant removal. Our tests indicated that TL-BER-treated effluent met drinking water quality standards China. At 10 V, average turbidity, CODMn, NH4+-N, UV254 removal rates TL-BERs system were 97.66%, 61.11%, 91.67%, 72.94%, respectively. Furthermore, intensities main fluorescence peaks, A, B, C, D, raw sample, decreased by 36.67%, 66.22%, 67.08%, 69.76%, after treatment, indicating tryptophan-like proteins, fulvic acid, humic acid also effectively removed. High-throughput sequencing analysis showed enrichment microorganisms, such as Proteobacteria, Bacteroidota, Actinobacteriota, play important roles various pollutants. Therefore, application strategy will enable practical

Three-dimensional electrode arrays for retinal prostheses

Three-dimensional electrode geometries were proposed to increase the spatial resolution in retinal prostheses aiming at restoring vision in blind patients. We report here the results from a study in which finite-element modeling was used to design and optimize three-dimensional electrode geometries. Proposed implants exhibit an array of well-like shapes containing stimulating electrodes at thei...

Highly Stretchable Anisotropic Structures for Flexible Micro/nano-electrode Applications.

The functionality of flexible metal electrodes relies on the stable performance of a metallic film. In this study, highly stretchable anisotropic structures are designed to investigate the behaviour of silver electrodes on polydimethylsiloxane. Treated using both the oxygen plasma and the surface chemical functionalization technology, the film resistivity was reduced to 5.856 × 10(-9) Ω m after...

Highly Efficient Electrocoalescence-based Droplet Merging Using a 3d Electrode

Droplet manipulation is comprised of techniques such as droplet generation, merging, and splitting, of which droplet merging is one of the major bottlenecks in achieving high-throughput analysis. Here we present a three dimensional electrode that improves the electric field uniformity and field strength experienced by two adjacent droplets undergoing merging. We conducted a systematic compariso...
